Hello and welcome to SpaceWave.
My name is Dimitar Stoev and I am your host. This is the introduction episode and I am going to share what SpaceWave is and what you can expect to hear on this podcast.
But first, let me introduce myself, so you have some information who is talking to you.
I am a software engineer who is currently building a product that is dedicated to space people and especially astro photographers.
Simple to use tool, that would allow people to showcase their work.
I am also a fan of all sci-fi and love to enjoy and day-dream about space.
I remember when I was a kid – watching TV series about space and I was mind-blown about all that is above and around us.
It felt surreal to be part of a universe that is so bizarre.
I had a notebook and I glued to it all the newspaper or magazine materials I found around and I still have it to this day.
I also painted the whole solar system and I drew some huge and beautiful rings to Jupiter. I don’t remember why I thought it had any, but they looked great.
After a while I started watching Star Trek Enterprise. I think this is the first show ever, that I watched of the Star Trek Universe and I wanted to experience traveling among the stars so bad.
I still want.
I am very disappointed that I live in a time, that is pre-warp. We need to fund this technology at all cost!
After graduating high-school, I was accepted in the University of Sofia, to study astrophysics, but because of some unfortunate events, I had to drop out just before the third year.
My life was shifted slowly toward software development and I started working without thinking too much about doing something with my passion of space.
That changed a few months ago.
I started to think about the possibilities of creating some hardware that is related to space. I want to create telescopes and little modular space crafts.
Stupid and ambitious desire.
First thing I had to decide is how to raise money for that and brainstormed so many ideas.
Finally... I got one that started to grow in my head. Making the social network for space lovers. Specially designed around the idea of astro photographers so they can share their work and sell prints.
It is perfect for a start!
I worked for a few months and finally shipped a minimum valuable product.
This is a little bit about me and who am I.
Now about the podcast
SpaceWave is a product of two things. From a long time, I wanted to do a podcast and share my thoughts about topics I am interested in.
Also, I think it will be a great way to meet some very interesting and special people at some point later on.
Although, I am no expert at anything, I will try my best to research the topics I am going to talk about, ... I will try my best to deliver some curious information and facts.
The topics I want to talk about are topics related to Space, Sci-fi shows, Astro imaging and Philosophical Space Opera style topics.
Every episode is going to be no more than 20-30 minutes and this is going to be published both on YouTube and Spotify.
Information regarding SpacePixel and SpaceWave could be found on the website – spacepixel.app and the official subreddit of SpacePixel.
The links will be in the description.
If you want to talk to me or just get in touch I am on X and Threads.
I am happy for what is there to come and I am looking forward to what SpaceWave can become.
Thanks for tuning in, So long and thanks for all the fish.
